Seneca Nation

Seneca Nation

Research papers on the Seneca Nation focus on this tribe that had three different off-shoots throughout the United States. Native American history is rich and fascinating but often times students do not know enough about the first people to enhabit the United States and surrounding countries. Have the writers at Paper Masters reveal the true history of America in a custom written project on the Seneca Nation.

Native American history has revealed that there are three groups of Seneca Native Americans in the United States:

  1. Tonawanda Band of Seneca
  2. Seneca-Cayuga Nation of Oklahoma
  3. Seneca Nation of Western New York State

the other two are the , also located in the western part of New York State, and the Seneca-Cayuga Nation of Oklahoma. There are three reservations that are owned by the Seneca nation, one of which is almost completely vacant. Two active reservations are the Cattaraugus Reservation and the Allegany Indian Reservation, while the Oil Springs Reservation is relatively unpopulated. Within the two populated reservations are the two alternating capitals of the Seneca Nation: Irving is at the Cattaraugus Reservation and Jimerson Town is at the Allegany Indian Reservation.

In New York, the territories possessed by the Seneca Nation are largely rural, but there are approximately 8,000 citizens that make up the nation. Approximately half of these individuals do not live on the listed reservations but are still considered members of the Nation as a whole. The Seneca Nation has a number of economic ventures that provide it with financial support, including the Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino in Buffalo, New York; the Seneca Allegany Casino in Salamanca, New York; the Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls, New York; and Seneca Gaming and Entertainment, which operates video slot and bingo facilities in Irving and Salamanca, New York, as well as on the Oil Spring Reservation in Cuba, New York. The Seneca Nation is also the creator and owner of the Native Pride brand of cigarettes.
