Native Americans research papers look at a broad scope of their history.
Native Americans research paper due and don't know how to start it? How about like this?
Looking across the broad scope of human history, one could effectively argue that the systematic removal of the Native American from his homelands has been one of the greatest atrocities ever committed by Western idealists. While it is clear that the motivations for such acts were promulgated by the western belief that society could be better served though the exploitation of nature and the advancement of capitalism , the reality that has been perpetuated for the Native American is one in which culture, social organization and everyday life has been thrown into disarray. Although many Native Americans have worked to preserve their heritage and traditions, even in the wake of being herded onto reservations, in actuality, much of what has been distinctly know throughout history as symbolic of Native American culture has all but been destroyed.
Noting the effects that the white man has had on the development of Native American culture in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, one author writes the following: "After finally subduing the tribes, Congress passes a series of laws designed to assimilate Indians into white society. Legislation passed included bills aimed at destroying tribal government, culture, language and communal landholdings†Even though the government has worked to change its attitudes and policies toward the Native Americans—in 1975, Congress initiated an era of self-determination—the process of dismantling the nation's culture throughout the course of Western occupation in the America has irrevocably changed the way that Native Americans function within their own society.
When looking at the impact that Western civilization had on the American Indians , it is apparent that there are a number of Native Americans that could be readily explored. From the abuse of the Indians as merchants of capitalism to the changing forms of force that the white man utilized to subdue the Native American, the number of Native Americans that could be investigated is quite extensive. To narrow down the scope of this investigation, this research focuses on the way in which Western influence has shaped the role of men and women in tribal society. By looking at the social organization of Indian tribes before and after the interference of the white man, it will be possible to demonstrate how Western influence destroyed a part of Indian culture by destroying the gender roles and social organization of the Indian tribe.
