Research Papers on Ribosomes

A research paper on ribosomes will look at the organelle and discuss its function in the human body. Our human anatomy specialists will custom write your research paper on ribosomes to focus on any aspect of the purpose, structure, composition or location of ribosomes in the human body.

A typical paper must deal in some way with a particular aspect of the ribosome. Writing about the ribosome in general is not approved of for many science courses, as the scope was too large. It is important that the ideas covered in paper are neither too broad nor too narrow for the proper length. Below is an outline which can be followed so that you are sure you hit all the highlights of ribosomes. Remember, this outline can be subject to change, just so long as the topic covers some aspect of the ribosome (i.e. ribosomal proteins).

I. Introduction

  1. Presence of organelles in every cellRibosomes
  2. Ribosome is one type of organelle
  3. General purpose of ribosome

II. Overview of ribosome

  1. Structure of ribosome
  2. Composition
  3. Atomic structure
  4. Location of ribosome
  5. Free
  6. Membrane-bound
  7. Function of ribosome
  8. Translation of ribosome

III. Overview of ribosomal proteins

  1. Structure of ribosomal proteins
  2. Location of ribosomal proteins
  3. Function of ribosomal proteins

IV. Ribosomal protein translation and impairment

  1. Translation of ribosomal proteins
  2. Inhibition of translation by naturally occurring toxins

V. Conclusions

VI. References

Again, aspects of this paper, especially points III. and IV., which should constitute the majority of the paper, are subject to change at the discretion of the writer.

Description: The paper is to be prepared for a readership audience comparable to that addressed by the scientific journals that serve as primary references for the project. The paper will be substantive rather than voluminous, and will consist of the following sections: Introduction, Body, Summary, and Literature Cited. The only section needing an official title is the Literature Cited page.

The introduction acquaints the reader with the ideas that led to the investigation. This includes any background knowledge relative to the study and cites individual scientists who have helped develop this information. The introduction should conclude with a description of why the research was performed and the significance of the investigation. If there is a hypothesis and/or prediction, they should be included. Its length is between 1-2 paragraphs or 1 page.

This is the main section of the paper. Most sentences should be written in the past tense since they describe things that have been done. How the material is organized here will vary considerably. Some of this will result from individual writing style and some from the nature of the material. You need to include enough information to make it clear to a reader what was done, but not describe every little step.

Generally this type of paper does not require the use of figures and tables. However, if deemed necessary, they must be cited. Figures and table are numbered in the sequence cited. All figures and tables must be titled properly (for example, "Fig. 1 - Effect of pH upon activity of alkaline phosphatase.). These titles are at the top of a table and at the bottom of a figure. All graphs must have labeled x and y axes. Normally the tables and figures are inserted in the text close to where they are first mentioned.

The summary is about 1 page in length and brings together major concepts presented in the paper.
