A research team asks you to help design and implement a Quantitative study to investigate whether there is a statistically significant relationship between the number of years of classroom experience of teachers and their performance rating scores.
(The ratings are obtained on a scale of 1 to 4, wherein 1 means poor performance,and 4 means excellent performance). Anonymous, secondary data from approximately 60 teachers will be employed in the study.
1. Identify and define the following:
a. the type of research design to be employed in the study
b. the variables and their types (e. g. independent or dependent)
c. the NULL hypothesis is this study
2. What statistical procedure (e.g. t-test, chi-square, etc.) would be most appropriate to evaluate the research question?
3. What result do you expect from the statistical test, and why?
4. If the correct statistical test used to evaluate these data yields a p value (or the Sig.value in SPSS) of .049, what does that result indicate?
5. If the correct statistical test used to evaluate these data yields a p value (or the Sig.value in SPSS) of .095 what does that result indicate?
