The political side of his career consisted of being the vice president of Al Gore's Presidential campaign, being an active supporter of the Obama Presidential campaign, and being appointed as a member of the of the Obama-Biden Transition project during the 2000's. Today, Daley's career is mainly focused on politics. On January 6, 2011 he was designated to become President Obama's new White House Chief of Staff. Although much controversy has surrounded this designation, it is assumed that Daley will be confirmed and assume his position in late January or February of 2011.
