Birth Control Forbidden
Some religions and cultures forbid birth control. Birth control methods are used in some third world countries to control the population. In these nations, birth control helps prevent unsafe abortions and prevents high risk pregnancies. However, birth control is in short supply and much of the problem in developing nations is still unresolved in spite the prevalence of birth control in the developed world.
In the country of China, this has been a government-backed issue for some time. According to the article, "Women and Forced Birth Control", the women in Tibet have been especially under a birth control siege due to its current over-population problems. The laws for forced birth control allow a fixed number of children per family. Any woman found pregnant with a child exceeding this number is forced into abortion and sterilization and also slapped with a fine of 1,00 yuan (approximately $120.00 US dollars). These fines must be paid within a specified time limit.

The Chinese government obviously does not believe their laws are fair because there is an ongoing attempt to hide the birth control policy imposed on the Tibet Autonomous Region. Chinese officials have forbidden the use of birth control related words and stress the use of scientific terms.
