Human Reproductive System

Below is a sample introduction to a research paper on the human reproductive system. Paper Masters can compose a custom project for your needs.

The human reproductive system is the biological system that regulates internal fertilization through sexual intercourse. Males and females, obviously, have different reproductive systems, designed to work in concert for the propagation of the species.

The combination of systems allows for the male’s penis to ejaculate sperm into the woman’s vagina, traveling up the cervix until it fertilizes an egg. This process is called conception. The resulting fetus grows and develops inside the woman’s uterus.

The Female Reproductive System

Human Reproductive System

The woman’s reproductive system involves the following:

  1. Ovaries - where the eggs are produced,
  2. Uterus - where the fertilized egg develops
  3. Vagina - The birth canal.

Every 28 days or so, hormones stimulate the release of an egg from the ovaries, which travel through the fallopian tubes into the uterus. If the egg is not fertilized, it is discarded from the body during menstruation.

The male’s reproductive system involves the testes, which are housed in the scrotum. Sperm cells are created in the testes. During sexual intercourse, sperm cells travel from the testicles, through the vas deferens and out through the penis.

Puberty and Human Reproductive

During puberty, the body releases hormones that initiate the reproductive system, transforming the child into an adult capable of sexual reproduction. The resulting body changes, known as secondary sexual characteristics also take place.
