Saturated fats are number two on the list. Two of the largest sources of saturated fat in the American diet, which people with arthritis should avoid, are pizza and cheese. Meat, full-fat dairy products, and pasta are also notorious sources of saturated fats. Trans fats, often found in fast food, are also known for triggering inflammations.
Excess consumption of Omega 6 fatty acids may cause the body to produce inflammation. Omega 6, unfortunately, is essential to the body’s normal growth and development, but its consumption should be moderate. Refined carbohydrates, such as white bread, stimulate inflammation in the body, as does MSG. Finally, people suffering from arthritis should consider eliminating alcohol, as it weakens the liver and may also cause inflammations.
