The National Education Foundation

The National Education Foundation (NEF), founded in 1989, works to unite the digital world with the employment and academic needs of students both past and present. This non-profit organization provides online educational support to children and adults throughout the world, including countries such as India, Egypt, Jordan, and the United States. Through the incorporation of various educational technologies, the NEF is able to ensure that these students are exposed to high-quality, rigorous academic experiences that will allow them to grow both inside and outside of the classroom.

There are three primary projects that the NEF coordinates. First, and arguably most important, is the K-12 CyberLearning Academy. This program works with disadvantaged students in underprivileged environments, promoting their forward progress in the fields of science, math, technology, and engineering. This program provides at-risk students with the support they need to graduate with the skills required to secure high-quality employment in our ever-changing, technologically-based world. The second project coordinated by the NEF is the NEF University Workforce Training program. Focusing on providing necessary training for job skills, the goal of this program is to enable countless Americans to secure gainful employment. Finally, the third program coordinated by the NEF is the NEF International Training program. Working on an international level, this program provides similar educational and job skills support to underserved populations in various countries. By helping these individual to secure college employment, the goal is to improve the quality of life of countless individuals throughout the globe. By working with the United States Department of State, this program also works to spread awareness of various educational and professional opportunities for individuals, combatting one of the underlying components of global terrorism. The NEF works tirelessly through these three programs to improve the lives of individuals throughout the globe, focusing on academic as well as practical education.
