National Association of School Psychology

The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) is designed to provide school psychologists with the support necessary to provide the best possible services to educators, school administrators, students, and their families. By focusing their research and outreach on improving students' experiences with regards to learning, behavior, and mental health, the NASP is working to set the next generation up for success in every way possible.
School Psychology and School Psychologists
There are several key priorities that the NASP reinforces through their work.
- Professional development for school psychologists, allowing them to remain abreast of current research and procedural developments.
- Diversity, both in considering the diverse culture and experiences of students and school psychologists themselves, as their unique backgrounds can provide a greater experience for students overall.
- Professional networking - By providing a forum for members, the NASP also works toward professional networking. Such relationships increase the likelihood that students will receive the best services they need at any given time.
- Advocacy - The NASP works at the local, state, and national levels to advocate for schools, students, and their psychological needs in the educational environment; through their government work, legislations are created and passed that provide the best possible scenario for all individuals, setting the current generation up for success in the future.
