Performance Evaluation System

Performance Evaluation Systemresearch paper due and don't know how to start it? How about like this?
Every company must have a performance evaluation system in order to measure the progress of its human resources. Business and MBA students are often required to write a research paper on performance evaluation systems because they will encounter them in every company they go to work for. Understanding what makes a good performance evaluation system is part of writing an outstanding research paper.
Three Areas of Evaluation
A good performance evaluation system will evaluate three areas:
- Individual Task Outcomes
- Behaviors
- Traits
Individual task outcomes looks at the employee and how well he or she completes their specific job requirements. These are quantitative results that can be clearly identified and discussed in a performance evaluation. The bulk of many performance evaluation systems are based upon individual task outcomes because they are not opinion based and can set a standard for employee improvement.
Factors of a Performance Evaluation System
Evaluating behaviors is problematic and can involve the attempt to quantify factors that cannot be determined objectively. Such behaviors that are found in a performance evaluation system include actions such as promptness, consideration towards co-workers and willingness to assist others. If you look closely at these factors, they do not have much to do with how well someone performs his or her job. They are subjective factors that may actually harm the most successful of employees.
Traits are given the least amount of credence in a performance evaluation system. When traits are examined, the overall goal is to determine how well an employee "fits" into the work environment.
