- The Ides of March is based on a play written by Beau Willimon and follows the life of a political staff member that is assisting a new Presidential candidate on the campaign trail. When an individual first hears of this movie and its impressive cast and writers, they automatically think that it has to be a success. However, this is not the case in this situation. Although The Ides of March did have its moments, the movie as a whole, is considered to be pointless and boring. Furthermore, it can be argued that this movie lacks an authentic climax or clear plot. The greatest strength of this movie was that it was extremely well organized and contained actors and actresses that were organic or convincing. That said there were more weaknesses than strengths that could not justify the cost of a movie ticket for an individual or a family. It is for these reasons that this movie could wait to be seen, if at all, on video.
